Scaring Up Comics For Halloween
It’s a couple of weeks until Halloween, so that gives you plenty of time to either cull through your collection for the less than desirable books you have or stop by your local comic book shop and pick up some bargain box books.
Why?
Because of the great idea that Squashua, a comic book reviewer for Ain’t it Cool News Comics @$$holes has to give trick-or-treaters Comics For Halloween.
Yes, Comics For Halloween.
Instead of candy (and instead of the hot pennies the old Cuban man in my neighborhood thought was funny to put in kid’s hands when I was a tyke out trick-or-treating) Squashua suggests giving out comic books.
There are a lot of good reasons. Parents don’t have to check through every piece of candy to make sure some weirdo isn’t trying to poison or injure their little darling(s). We all have some books in our collection that we don’t really want anymore. Or, if you don’t, then this is a great way to give your local comic book shop some help in reducing their quarter box inventory. If you follow through on Squashua’s advice, you can include your local comic book shop’s business card or flyer with the comic book and possibly be helping to bring in future comic book customers.
It’s a win-win situation for all involved.
One word of advice: make sure the comic is “G” rated. I’d avoid giving out something like “Eighball.”
